Kids who want to explore science, technology, and engineering should look no further than uOttawa Engineering Outreach. They offer courses, camps, and clubs for those interested in STEM. What’s unique about them is that everything they do is hands-on and they visit real laboratories on campus to do experiments. Kids get a feel for what it’s like to be a real scientist and actually get to see real research being done by the faculty. They also boast the latest and best technology for exploration. All of their staff are current university students studying related fields and who know how to work with kids. The goal of this course is to make science fun for kids so they want to take their STEM education further. The skills they come out of the courses with include real-time problem solving, taking risks with their ideas, and just that science can be fun.
