The skills they come out of the courses with include real-time problem solving, taking risks with their ideas, and just that science can be fun.
The Engineering Outreach Office is a non-profit organization at the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Engineering, with a main focus on providing youth with accessible programming in STEM. Our vision is to inspire and equip the next generation with the skills they will need for a world that demands constant innovation, critical thinking, and creativity.
Founded in 1991, the first summer camp originally provided programming to 60 participants. Over 30 years later, we now reach over 40,000 youth yearly through camps, clubs, workshops, and events. We aim to create programs that captivate and challenge students as they explore new ideas in enjoyable, hands-on, and lasting ways. By emphasizing inclusivity and real-world problem-solving, we empower youth to see themselves as future leaders in engineering and STEM.
We are proud to empower girls, Indigenous youth, and underrepresented communities with opportunities to explore STEM fields, opening doors to new experiences and pathways.
Our staff are university students studying in Engineering and Science that are meticulously chosen for their capabilities to explain scientific concepts in simple ways and aptitudes of working with kids.
Our staff is fully trained on First Aid, Health and Safety, Gender Equity, etc
