OUR KIDS review of Veg Camp

This eco-oriented camp is a one-of-a-kind overnight camp experience just outside of Schomberg, an hour north of the GTA. What truly sets it apart is the focus on a vegetarian lifestyle, inclusiveness, and everyday mindfulness. Campers 9 to 17 come together for a week of outdoor adventure, exploration, and community building to engage in small-group experiential learning of their connections to the Earth, animals, and others. Activities include ropes challenges, hiking, archery, rock climbing, yoga, and exploration of nature in Cedar Glen Outdoor Centre on the Oak Ridges Moraine. Hands-on learning about sustainability is also key. Meals are all plant-based fare, reflecting the camp’s core ethos. Many leaders are former campers here; it’s a camp kids love returning to yearly. Campers take away a heightened awareness of themselves and the world around them.
