This program is designed to build the following character traits:

  • Physicality: Interest and pleasure in movement and healthy living. Athleticism.
  • Interpersonal skills: Ability to understand the emotions and behaviors of others, and to respond accordingly. Ability to compromise and listen. Communication skills. Leadership.

Participants will develop the fundamental skills of soccer, including dribbling, passing, shooting and defense strategy, to combine their play in games.

YMCA instructors will educate players about rules and etiquette while encouraging teamwork and fitness competencies needed to play the sport.
