About this Program

This program is designed to build the following character traits:

  • Interpersonal skills: Ability to understand the emotions and behaviours of others, and to respond accordingly. Ability to compromise and listen. Communication skills. Leadership.
  • Physicality: Interest and pleasure in movement and healthy living. Athleticism.

Participants will learn fundamental skills such as: serving, passing, setting, spiking, court awareness and strategy, and will apply these skills in fun games. 

YMCA instructors will teach players about rules and etiquette while encouraging teamwork and building the fitness needed to play the sport.
