New this year, we are offering the opportunity for our Sr Campers ages 10-14 the chance to elevate their baking skills! The basic techniques will be quickly covered (measuring, etc) to have you ready for the next step. Wear clothes and running shoes ready to get messy. In this program campers will take home sweets, review proper food handling, kitchen safety, and basic techniques to get ready for sweet and tasty program, campers take home sweets, get exposed to baking techniques (i.e. measuring ingredients), proper food handling, food preparation, presentation, kitchen safety, and how to decorate a cookie, cupcake, and more! The experienced Appleby instructors will teach campers basic recipes and techniques for making cookies, breads, and how to decorate using different icing techniques.
Held in Appleby’s Dining Hall and recently renovated servery, there is a focus on safety while also promoting self-confidence and awareness in a fun and inspiring setting! The program also includes a well-rounded day with supervised outdoor activities, energizers, recreational swim time and also includes a nutritious lunch. Parents are welcome to join campers on the last day of camp to view a decorated cake showing the basics of what they learned.
