This camp is designed to build the following character traits:

Independence: Kids build independence by preparing recipes, following instructions, making decisions and practising practical life skills.
Responsibility: Kids practise responsibility by following safety rules, keeping workspaces clean, managing ingredients and making thoughtful decisions.

Make March Break meaningful with COOKSMART March Break Camp! Our program gives kids the opportunity to learn practical life skills through four connected learning areas: cooking, nutrition, financial literacy, and social-emotional learning.

Campers build confidence in the kitchen by preparing sweet and savoury recipes, practising food safety, learning cooking techniques and exploring new ingredients. Through nutrition activities, children discover how different foods contribute to a balanced diet and learn to make informed food choices.

Financial literacy activities introduce essential everyday concepts, including budgeting, money management and responsible decision-making. Through collaborative games, group challenges and guided activities, campers also develop social-emotional skills such as communication, cooperation, self-awareness, problem-solving and managing responsibilities.

Our hands-on approach encourages children to participate, experiment, ask questions and learn by doing. Whether they are preparing a recipe, solving a challenge or working with a team, campers have opportunities to practise independence and apply new skills in meaningful ways.

COOKSMART March Break Camp is more than a school-break activity. It is an opportunity for children to build practical knowledge, strengthen important life skills and discover what they can accomplish.
