This program is designed to build the following character traits:
Interpersonal skills: Theatre combines the creative ideas and abilities of its participants. This cooperative process includes discussing, negotiating, rehearsing, and performing.
Creativity: Making creative choices, thinking of new ideas, and interpreting familiar material in new ways are essential to drama. Einstein said, “Imagination is more important than knowledge.”
Through storytelling, children learn to think creatively, as well as empathize with and gain an understanding of others. An experienced coach will guide them in exploring their imagination and in expressing feelings through drama. The children will use role-playing to act out short stories & plays based on diverse age-appropriate themes. Short movement routines set to music help develop physical coordination and introduce each child to music and listening skills. Through vocal exercises & song the students learn to speak with clarity, and gain in overall personal confidence, contributing to the growth of public speaking and leadership skills. A short presentation for parents & friends will take place at the last class of each session The final class of each level 1 session consists of 40 minutes dress rehearsal & 20 minutes presentation.
