Youth have the opportunity to learn leadership skills throughout CIT program.
In the first week of the program, CITs will learn the ins and outs of what it takes to be a counselor, including leadership styles, how to run an activity, and camper behaviors. They also get to do regular camp programming such as swimming, rock climbing, arts and crafts etc.
The second week of the program, CITs will continue to learn the skills to be a counselor, plus they will have the chance to shadow a staff member for the day to see a leader in action.
In the last week of the program, CITs will be joining two counselors in the cabin and alongside a counselor running a program for campers to really get that hands-on learning experience. This allows them to try out being a counselor all while having an experienced staff nearby to assist them on their learning adventure.
