English Summer Camp in France – Megève

English Summer Camp in France – Megève | Ages 6–17

Learn English while experiencing an international summer in the heart of the French Alps.

The International Language Camps welcomes children and teenagers ages 6–17 to Megève for a residential summer experience combining English language learning, Alpine adventures, sports, cultural discovery and international friendships.

Established in 1996, ILC has been bringing young people from around the world together for 30 years. Our philosophy is simple: you don't just learn a language – you live it.

With around 40 campers per week, approximately one adult for every five campers, and English classes limited to eight students, ILC provides a personal environment where every child can participate, progress and feel part of an international community.

Learn English by Living It

English lessons are interactive, practical and adapted to each camper's level.

Campers learn in small groups of no more than eight students, with lessons focusing on communication and confidence. Role-playing, discussions, games, drama and interactive activities encourage children and teenagers to use English rather than simply study it.

But English learning does not stop when class ends.

Campers continue communicating throughout the day while participating in activities, sharing meals, exploring the Alps and spending time with an international group. English becomes connected to real experiences, friendships and everyday camp life.

Three Programs Designed for Different Ages

ILC offers three programs so that the level of adventure, activities and independence develops with each age group.

FUN Program – Ages 6–9
A caring introduction to international camp life for younger children. English learning is combined with playful activities, sports, creative workshops and Alpine discovery, with particular attention given to children experiencing their first residential stay away from home.

ADRENALINE Program – Ages 10–13
Designed for campers ready for greater adventure. English lessons are combined with sports, outdoor activities and team challenges that encourage confidence, independence and new friendships.

TEENS MOUNTAIN ADVENTURE – Ages 14–17
A dedicated program for teenagers combining English learning with mountain adventure and personal development. Teens are encouraged to communicate, make decisions, work as a team and develop greater independence, initiative and leadership.

A Typical Day

Morning:
Three hours of interactive English lessons adapted to each camper's level, with a maximum of eight students per class.

Afternoon:
Sports, outdoor adventures, cultural discoveries and creative activities adapted to each age group. Depending on the program and conditions, activities may include hiking, mountain biking, rafting, climbing, swimming, archery and other Alpine experiences.

Evening:
Residential campers enjoy supervised social activities, games, entertainment and time with their international friends.

This daily rhythm creates a balance between structured English learning, adventure, social interaction and personal development.

Premium Hotel Accommodation in the Heart of Megève

Accommodation is an important part of the ILC experience.

Rather than staying in traditional summer camp dormitories, residential campers are accommodated at Hôtel Au Vieux Moulin, a high-quality hotel located in the centre of Megève.

After an active day of English lessons, sports and Alpine adventures, campers return to a comfortable hotel environment where they can relax, recharge and spend time with their friends.

ILC staff are present at the hotel day and night, ensuring continuity of supervision throughout the stay.

For international families, this offers an attractive combination: children experience the independence, friendships and excitement of a residential summer camp while benefiting from quality hotel accommodation and attentive supervision.

An International Community

One of the strengths of learning English at ILC is the international environment surrounding the camper.

Children and teenagers meet peers from different countries, languages and cultures. English becomes a practical means of communicating, participating and creating friendships.

Campers are encouraged to become more confident speaking, to listen to others and to communicate across cultural differences.

The result goes beyond language progress. Children develop confidence, independence, adaptability, teamwork and greater openness to the world.

Discover Megève and the French Alps

Located in the French Alps and approximately one hour from Geneva, Megève provides an exceptional environment for an international summer experience.

Campers discover mountain life through sports, outdoor adventures, cultural experiences and excursions.

For stays of two weeks or more, Sunday excursions may include destinations such as Chamonix, the Mer de Glace, the Aiguille du Midi, Annecy and other Alpine locations.
