Some camps are up north, in the bush, away from the all the hustle and bustle of the city, and one of the great strengths of the Harbourfront Centre programs is that it isn’t: it’s nearby, close to all of the resources of the city. Because of that, it offers a greater range of activity that you’ll find anywhere, including everything from theatre arts, to sports, to digital storytelling, and on and on. The staffing benefits from the proximity to the city, with instructors bringing a rich range of experience and expertise. Campers enroll within areas of interest, and in so doing enter a setting of peers who share that interest, an experience that in itself can be transformative. Most of the programs are day programs, though not all are—there are overnight options as well, including during the March break. There are PA day sessions as well. Now entering their fourth decade, the Harbourfront Centre programs are as established as any you’ll find anywhere, inclusive of a unique culture and approach to learning, doing, and having fun.
The Camps Team at Harbourfront Centre is made up of many seasonal staff to help run our programs. All staff vary from high school and university students to teacher candidates and arts and marine professionals. The full-time Education team supervises all seasonal staff. Background checks are a mandatory requirement for employment. All camp staff will receive safety and emergency training. You will encounter the following camp positions at your time at Harbourfront Centre Camps:
Camp Counsellors/ Bus Marshalls
Office Staff
Program Facilitators
Program Supervisors

Very positive influence!!"
"My daughter came home every afternoon speaking very highly of her camp counselors."
"Yes, so much! Everyday we picked her up was "the best day ever"."
"The choice of camps for older children was amazing! I had trouble looking for things to do this summer with my new 14 year-old and Harbourfront Centre Camps gave her an opportunity to DO something instead of just sit at home. There was an amazing variety and I was so pleased to have been told by my friend! I find most camps only focus on younger children but kids between the ages of 10-14 need to be active and stimulated too. Thank you for making her summer all that much more interesting during the day when parents need to be at work."
"She had a wonderful time, and is already looking forward to going next summer."
