This program is designed to build the following character traits:

  • Interpersonal skills: Through shared creative experiences, students learn to express their ideas, listen to others, and provide constructive feedback. Collaborative projects promote teamwork, encouraging students to work together. 
  • Creativity: As an arts organization, NPCC provides a space where creative curiosity is encouraged and participants get to experience the benefits of trying new ideas and techniques in the artwork they create.

Play, create, and connect! Join us for a hands-on workshop where families will design and craft their own Sungka boards and learn to play this traditional Filipino strategy game. Using upcycled materials, families will create their own Sungka boards and dive into a fun, hands-on game with the support of Gabby, Instructor and Facilitator. Sungka has been enjoyed for generations in Filipino communities as a game that brings people together, and now it’s your family’s turn to experience creativity, connection, and playful challenge. Perfect for all ages, no experience needed just bring your curiosity and creative spirit! All materials are included.
