This program is designed to build the following character traits:

  • Creativity: As an arts organization, NPCC provides a space where creative curiosity is encouraged and participants get to experience the benefits of trying new ideas and techniques in the artwork they create.
  • Interpersonal skills: Through shared creative experiences, students learn to express their ideas, listen to others, and provide constructive feedback. Collaborative projects promote teamwork, encouraging students to work together.

Learn to sew on a sewing machine, design simple patterns, learn about fabric and how to make practical and stylish selections for different projects. Students will learn step-by-step techniques in sewing and construction, and will make practical accessories from pre-cut projects to take home. Julia is an award-winning fashion and accessories designer, who comes with plenty of teaching experience. High-quality sewing machines will be made available for use in class, as well as sewing kits with all necessary tools and implements. All materials are included.
