While Focus Learning younger campers had an awesome time celebrating Pan Am Games Week, the teenagers transformed into young entrepreneurs in a fun filled and educational Business Camp! Because tomorrow's CEO's are the children of today, Focus Learning's Business Camp brought students an experience of creating their very own start up company, and then presenting a business pitch to a group of "Shark" investors in a mock Shark Tank.
The week started out with confidence building games and activities where campers had fun meeting their new camp friends, and eventual team mates in the "Shark Tank" business pitch. Throughout the week, expert Entrepreneur Mr. Shahi guided the teens to create a start up business by teaching them tricks of the trade and how to work in a team. Groups used creative brainstorming techniques to develop possible ideas for a marketable business, and then worked out the details of the plan, including how to "pitch" the idea to the Sharks with the help of the enthusiastic and caring Mr. Shahi.
The final products, an advirtisement and prototype of the business idea for each group, were proudly presented to the Sharks at the end of camp. Campers confidently proved to the panel of Entrepreneurs that their company was worth investing in, and all groups successfully "hooked" a Shark and accepted an offer.
All in all, campers walked away from the week with a bounty of ideas for their futures as business leaders in Toronto. Watch out for these upcoming super star entrepreneurs, they are sure to impress us soon in the business world.
Focus Learning looks forward to offering another Business Camp August 17-21, and can't wait to meet the next round of young entrepreneurs! Limited space available-- check out our CAMP VIDEO for more information!
