From enriched credit and travel courses to outdoor leadership, Lakefield’s Summer Academy offers immersive, confidence-building opportunities to earn an Ontario Secondary School credit while encouraging campers to strengthen their academic goals, gain new skills and build self-awareness. Our students choose these summer courses to get ahead, improve their grades, and free up their schedule for even more opportunities, next year!

Featured 2026 Summer Credit Courses
- Grade 12 English: Literature of Wilderness and Journey
This Grade 12 English credit explores literature through the lens of wilderness and personal journey. Students study Into the Wild alongside poetry, fiction, and nonfiction, combining classroom learning with a ten-day canoe trip. Through journaling, discussion, and creative writing, students connect their time on the land with literary analysis and reflection.

- Grade 11 Travel Marine Biology
This blended Grade 11 Biology credit combines online learning with hands-on field study, comparing the marine ecosystems of the Bay of Fundy (NB) with the freshwater environment of Lake Katchewanooka (ON). Students learn on campus and at the Huntsman Marine Science Centre, developing investigative skills through fieldwork, observation, and inquiry.
