Focus Learning's first week of summer camp was so much fun for everyone! With 7 different camps to choose from, and hundreds of activities throughout the week, campers had a great time meeting new friends and trying new things. As the first of our nine weeks in total, "Under the Sea" week was just the beginning of a GREAT summer!
Creative Kids Camp explored all kids of sea creatures each day of the week! From learning how to spell our favourite under the sea animals, to getting our hands dirty in sensory box activities, campers certainly enjoyed learning about what happens under the sea!
Summer Scholars Camp played and learned this week! These campers had a great time reading Finding Nemo books and making their very own Nemo. Math projects came to life with fun origami geometry activities.
Summer ESL campers impressed us all by performing a camp song and presenting their marine animals shadow box. The campers learned under the sea vocabulary and sang silly songs like “Down by the Bay” to practice pronunciation. The teen ESL campers did a research project and art to create their group shadow box and present it to the school.
Technology Discovery campers went on a sunken treasure hunt with their robots and programmed a swimming fish game! Miss LIsa’s Robotics and Computer Programming campers got very creative using their new tech skills all week and gave very impressive presentations at the end of the week.
Chess with Mr. S campers had an amazing time playing chess, participating in the tournament, and of course earning medals and even some trophies!
We can't wait to become superhero campers in "Superhero Week" July 18-22.
