
Step into the fascinating world of natural history and explore how nature has been preserved, studied, and imagined through art! In this camp. participants will learn about the creative practices of Natural History like botanical and zoological illustration, “taxidermy" sculptures. creating herbariums and dioramas. Campers will also explore collecting and preserving natural specimens responsibly, use speculative storytelling to reimagine archives, invent fantastical and mythological creatures, and critically investigate the histories of the Natural History Museum as an institution.
By the end of the week, teens will have a unique portfolio of work that combines observation, creativity, and narrative, curating their own natural history exhibits in an art show.
