    My Favourite Part About TalkMaze...

“My favourite part about TalkMaze is that the kids learn something new that they have never experienced before. They’re 7 years old so I think it’s a good age to start….I think at this young age is even better. Kids nowadays have big minds and they know much more than we do, so they need to learn how to be confident, how to speak in front of people, how to gain knowledge, and how to speak to anyone and that can be challenging for them. But it’s easier for them now ... Show More

    Director's Message

    Ghalia Aamer, CEO & Founder

As a child, I struggled to communicate and was afraid of speaking. My teachers often expressed concerns to my parents about my lack of communication skills. Public speaking was incredibly daunting, and it affected every aspect of my life. However, everything changed in seventh grade when I joined the debate club. Seeing my opponents actively engaging with my arguments and the judges thoughtfully providing me feedback made me realize that my words finally mattered! The experience transformed my life and propelled me to become a competitive debater at the provincial and national levels.

Motivated to help other students overcome their communication struggles, I became a debate coach at my former junior high school. The program expanded very quickly, and soon, the limited resources prevented me from accepting even more aspiring debaters. Finding it disheartening that this life-changing opportunity couldn’t be offered to more students, I decided to take action. In 2020, I founded TalkMaze with a vision for a world where communication skills training is accessible to every student around the globe. Our platform aims to empower young people globally through communication skills training.

Today, TalkMaze offers virtual public speaking and debate programs, 1:1 coaching, and partners with several schools to provide tools to improve communication skills and boost confidence. Thousands of students across the globe have benefited from TalkMaze’s programs and support. As the founder and CEO of TalkMaze, I travel around the world to advocate for expanding access to communication skills training, with a mission to continue growing TalkMaze’s reach and bringing communication skills to even more students worldwide.

    Stories

    • Student Success Story | Ryan

Ryan’s success story at Talk Maze is nothing short of inspiring. From the very beginning, Ryan recognized his areas of improvement and set clear goals for himself. He sought to improve his ability to organize his thoughts, become a more captivating speaker, and regain confidence in communicating before an audience. Right from the start, he approached every lesson with eagerness and dedication, taking notes, asking insightful questions, and embracing new challenges with enthusiasm.

One of the most remarkable transformations in Ryan’s journey has been his ability to tailor his language to suit different audiences. Initially, he struggled to present technical and scientific topics in a way that his 9-year-old classmates could comprehend. However, through determination and resourcefulness, he adapted his presentation style to make complex concepts accessible and engaging to younger minds. Consequently, he elevated his speeches, shifting from basic tree care topics to encompass broader environmental concerns, effectively connecting with adults and other members of the community.

As Ryan progressed, his growth as a speaker was nothing short of extraordinary. Where he once struggled to speak for even 30 seconds on a topic, he now effortlessly holds the floor for 3-5 minutes, depending on the assignment. This newfound ability to express himself confidently and eloquently has not only impressed his mentors at Talk Maze but has also given Ryan a tremendous sense of achievement and pride.

Ryan’s transformation from a student struggling to speak for half a minute to a confident and compelling speaker with a passion for engaging in conversations spanning minutes is truly remarkable. His dedication, willingness to learn, and fearless pursuit of improvement have made him an incredible student at Talk Maze. As his success story continues to unfold, there’s no doubt that Ryan’s communication skills will take him to even greater heights in both academic and personal endeavours.
