Mississauga private elementary schools

Find elementary schools in Mississauga listed below.

Find a list of schools

Mississauga offers a variety of excellent private elementary schools that will provide your children with a superb learning environment. This includes elementary schools in Etobicoke, Erindale, Malton, Meadowvale, Clarkson, Lorne Park,  Port Credit, Erin Mills, Hurontario, Sheridan, Erindale, Credit Valley, Streetsville, and Lakeview.

Small class sizes make the classroom a comfortable environment where instructors encourage participation and engagement. Private schools are known to give each student heightened individual attention. Mississauga's private elementary schools recognize that each child learns in unique ways and education is not one-size-fits-all.

Types of private elementary schools

Many of Mississauga's private elementary schools are linked with high schools. "Feeder schools" ease the potentially difficult transition from elementary school to high school.

Paying Tuition

Private schools in Mississauga are more affordable than ever. While some school's tuition is $5,000 or less, there are other ways to pay tuition and fees.

  • Scholarships will help pay your child's tuition if he or she has outstanding achievements or involvement in a certain area. Both elementary schools themselves and external organizations offer scholarships.
  • Financial aid will assist you in covering tuition if you can demonstrate clear need. Be sure to be honest about your finances when applying to a private elementary school to increase your chances of receiving aid. They also recommend that you apply early because some bursaries have strict deadlines.
  • Charitable or community organizations also help eligible parents pay for private elementary school in Mississauga.
  • In Ontario, you may qualify for tax deductions in many situations. Enrolling your son or daughter in a faith-based school (such as a Christian, Catholic, Jewish, or Islamic school) or one for students with special needs may make you eligible for a tax break. (Learn more in our guide to special needs school costs.)

What to consider before selecting a private Elementary School

Before choosing a private elementary school in Mississauga, think about some of the following questions or issues:

  • How much is tuition? Do you think it is a good value? Are there any hidden costs (i.e. field trips, uniforms, lunches)?
  • How close is it to your home? Are there bus services or public transportation to make the daily commute reasonable?
  • What is the school's average class size? How many students are enrolled there?

Meet with Mississauga's top ranked private schools and the best boarding schools across Canada at the Halton-Peel Private School Expo and Toronto Private School Expo in October. These one-day events are a must for any parent or student considering an alternative education.
