Medics Camp-Forensic Medicine L3

Put on your lab coat, goggles and grab your evidence kit, as you step into the role of a doctor detective! In Forensic Medicine, campers use science, knowledge of the human body, and medical skills to uncover clues, analyze evidence, and solve medical mysteries. Starting with the scientific method, they explore how real forensic scientists and medical professionals use biology, chemistry, and anatomy to investigate the truth through fun, hands-on, skill-based activities as part of our STEM-accredited program, ranked in the top 10% worldwide by STEM.org in 2025.

Campers dive into topics like DNA, genetics, bones, blood types, and cells, using hands-on experiments to discover how our unique biological markers help identify individuals. They analyze mystery mixtures, perform chemistry experiments, study teeth and bones in forensic odontology and anthropology, and examine how toxicology, microbiology, and pathology reveal important details about a case. Campers will also take fingerprints and analyze patterns for loops, whorls, and arches, explore forensic entomology to see how insects can help tell time and solve crime.  They will step into the shoes of a forensic pathologist as they perform a simulated autopsy on a fish specimen to determine the cause of death.

Through these engaging, hands-on investigations, Forensic Med campers build critical STEM and analytical skills, learn real-world lab techniques, and practice teamwork, observation, and problem-solving just like real forensic specialists.
