Put on your lab coat, grab your evidence kit, and become a doctor detective!
In Forensic Med, campers use science, knowledge of the human body, and medical skills to uncover clues, analyze evidence, and solve fun mysteries. Starting with the scientific method, they discover how real forensic scientists and medical professionals use biology, chemistry, and anatomy to find answers all through exciting, hands-on activities as part of our STEM-accredited program, ranked in the top 10% worldwide by STEM.org in 2025.
Campers explore topics like fingerprints, bones, and simple DNA concepts in ways that are perfect for their age group and conduct hands-on activities to bring concepts to life. They take their own fingerprints, mix safe mystery solutions to see how scientists test substances, and examine teeth and bones to understand what they can tell us about a person. They’ll also look at the role of plants and insects and how they can provide clues. In addition, campers will learn how impressions like footprints and shoe prints help solve mysteries, compare fibers under magnifiers to see how clothing can leave evidence, and even crack secret codes to uncover hidden messages. Doctor detectives will examine owl pellets and identify bones of small animals just like a forensic anthropologist!
Campers put their observational and problem solving skills to the test as they examine scenes to determine cause and effect. Through these engaging investigations, Forensic Med campers build STEM skills, learn real-world science techniques, and practice teamwork, observation, and critical thinking just like real forensic specialists, but in a way that’s fun and age-appropriate.
This program is not designed to be scary; all topics and activities are tailored to this age group. However, if your child is particularly sensitive, our Discover or Explore themes might be a better fit.
Some of the .medical and forensic professionals campers learn about include:
Forensic Pathologists, Geneticists, Toxicologists, Crime Scene Investigators, Forensic Anthropologists, Forensic Botanists, Odontologists (Forensic Dentists), Microbiologists, Entomologists, and more!
