This program is designed to build the following character traits:

Creativity: As an arts organization, NPCC provides a space where creative curiosity is encouraged and participants get to experience the benefits of trying new ideas and techniques in the artwork they create.
Interpersonal skills: Through shared creative experiences, students learn to express their ideas, listen to others, and provide constructive feedback. Collaborative projects promote teamwork, encouraging students to work together.

This is a drawing fundamentals class for kids who really want to learn observation skills and technique to be able to draw their favourite subjects. This season we are focusing on landscape and portrait drawing! Participants will enjoy learning to draw with attention to perspective, texture, value, and form in rural and urban landscape and in the portrait portion, observe shape proportion, scale, and light source. They will learn how to look at a reference, plan a composition and use space effectively in their artwork. Nima will teach with references and demonstrations and will assist with step-by-step instruction while allowing students to explore a planned list of subjects and categories to ensure a good variety of practice, an understanding of process and lovely finished projects that kids will take home to show off. All materials are included.
