This program is designed to build the following character traits:

Interpersonal skills: In addition to designing this course specifically on public speaking, where students will write and present their speeches in a mock setting, we have incorporated learning activities throughout the curriculum to build confident and powerful speakers.
Courage: This course is designed to boost your child's self-esteem and confidence. It focuses on building the student’s presentation strategies and communicating clearly and coherently.

This course is an introductory public speaking course and designed for students who have not taken the Power of Words Academy School Year Enrichment Writing and Public Speaking program.

There is a maximum of 12 students in a class.

At Power of Words, we recognize that oral communication skills are fundamental to student participation in any learning environment. In addition to designing this course specifically focused on public speaking where students will write and present their own speeches in a mock setting, we have incorporated learning activities throughout the curriculum with the goal of building confident and powerful speakers.

This course is designed to boost your child's self-esteem and confidence. It focuses on building the student’s presentation strategies, effectively using vocal skills (including tone, pitch, volume and pace), incorporating non-verbal cues (including facial impressions, gestures and eye contact) and communicating orally in a clear and coherent manner.
