Alberta Open Farms Days is an incubator for agri-tourism and rural sustainability. We bring people together through educational and experiential agricultural-based initiatives to learn about where your food comes from. At Wildhorse Ranch we are a Feast of the Five Senses where you can engage them all during your time here. We have a large permaculture garden that showcases what can be grown in Alberta. Come sample/buy products that we grow like: carrots, peas, beets, lettuce, spinach, potatoes, kale, and more. Our cut flower garden is a colorful display of beauty - you can take part in a gathering in the garden and pick flowers that make you happy! or you can buy a ready made bouquet to take home. Regenerative agriculture is very important to us and we are using many native species in our gardens. The fruit bushes and orchard contains a large unique variety of products, we will have some for sale and some for "sampling"! The list includes: saskatoons, honey berries, raspberries, black currents, cranberries, blueberries, apricots, pears, prairie cherries, apples and gooseberries. Plus we will be offering a "horse connection workshops" in 1/2 hours segments - sign up required and there is a cost. Please call or email if you would like more information. Its a Fun event and there are other farms and ranches in the area that are hosting activities. Come for a day of Fun on the Farms and Ranches!
