Summer Camps Eganville

While the town may be small, situated within the Bonnechere Valley, it has a lot to offer. It’s at the heart of some prime fossil hunting country—it’s the Ordovician Fossil Capital of Canada—with some finds dating to more than 500 million years ago. The region is also a musical centre, and while lesser known than Cape Breton, has imprinted itself onto the artistic life of the country. The “Log Driver’s Waltz” comes from here, as does April Vertch, one of the greatest ambassadors of Ottawa Valley fiddling the region has ever had. Olympian Melissa Bishop grew up here as well.
