Private schools in Canada with the smallest classes

Ranking schools by class size

Find a list of schools

While it’s unhelpful to rank private schools overall, it can be worthwhile to rank them in terms of specific criteria. Below, we rank them in terms of class size: we provide a list of the top 20 private schools in Canada with the smallest average class size.

Private schools with smaller classes can be an appealing option. After all, smaller classes have some widely-acknowledged benefits for students.

Class size isn’t everything, though. You’ll want to look at many other factors in finding the right school for your child. You’ll also want to consider academics, programs, curricular approaches, teachers, and culture. You may also want to consider school facilities, extracurriculars, and technological resources.

To help you out in your search, we list schools by location and type. You can filter these lists using our advanced search, and go deeper into schools by reading our comprehensive school profiles. You can also compare schools in terms of many different criteria, including admissions, academics, special needs support, and extracurriculars. Finally, check out our advice guide, which contains many detailed articles on private school education, or visit one of our school expos (to meet with many schools, all in the same place).
