A two week session offers a more intense experience. Campers and staff have a greater opportunity to nurture relationships and partake in the great lessons that camp has to offer. Campers have the opportunity to hone their skills and delve deeper into morning activities as campers select four areas of interest and spend each morning concentrating on two of their choices. Campers work to achieve Camp Kawartha levels and are given awards at the end of the session. There are a wider range of evening programs and theme days.

All campers at Camp for two weeks or more participate in an overnight trip away from the camp’s main site. These excursions offer an unforgettable wilderness experience to campers in a safe setting, support personal development and cabin cohesion, and sets campers on the path of leadership. Younger campers (usually 8-10 years) will hike to a campsite on the Range (our 180-acre property across from Camp), cook dinner and sleep in tents under the stars.

Older campers will go on a one-night or two-night canoe trip, depending on their age and cabin behaviour. After participating in meal planning, practice paddling, and portage training, campers set out to the Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park, the Frost Centre area, or to nearby creeks and lakes. Campers will paddle and portage by day, and upon reaching their campsites will set-up sleeping tents and eating areas, collect firewood, and assist staff in food preparation. At the end of a long day, campers will enjoy a night by the campfire. These trips are not necessarily strenuous on the campers, but they will be expected to paddle several kilometres (a few hours) each day, and assist at portages. Portages for one-night or two-night trips range from a few metres to about a kilometre.

All rates are in Canadian dollars, and are subject to 13% HST
