My children look forward to going to camp every year and Kids Inc. is the first camp we book. They can't wait to get on the bus and meet their friends. They come home singing new songs, playing new games, and talking about the new things they will be doing the next day. The constant fresh air and natural environment are what make this day camp so unique. The kids disconnect from technology and can be true kids for a week.
There are so many reasons why we choose and continue to love going to Kids Inc. The facilities, variety of activities, being outdoors, and having to experience a bit of an overnight camp experience without staying overnight. The staff are top notch and the admin team is very professional and organized.
The quality of the program and variety of activities is what allows our kids to go back for multiple weeks without getting bored. The activities are age-appropriate with a kinder area (their activity tent and playground) to the junior camp being in a larger tent. The kids love pool time, sports, the arts & crafts tent, the funny skits they do at lunch on the stage, and the slide in the pond.
My kids love going back and seeing friends from previous years, especially the bus stop kids. They are now going with their friends too. We have never experienced any issues. Kids Inc. does a great job at organizing the group based on age, personality, and skill level. They have a variety of different staff and they recognize the needs of the kids.
My kids developed many skills including learning to be independent, speaking up if they needed something ( i.e., going to the bathroom), choosing activities they wanted to do, and improving their swimming skills. I found by the end of the week they were more confident and interested in participating in new games and activities. They were more social and outgoing.
Kids Inc takes the gold medal for the quality of camp staff. Their staff come from a variety of backgrounds and have extensive experience working with kids. The camp director is always around and visible. The communication is top-notch. If something happens at camp I hear about it from the wellness team ( yes, they have a dedicated wellness/health team) that calls or emails during the day. They have an amazing leader-in-training (LIT) program that helps support and gives extra hands.
My advice and speaking for my kids is to register early! This camp fills us fast and for good reason. Check out the website as it has all the information you need to know about the camp, bus schedule, how to register, etc. Pack lots of snacks as they are very active and it is a true rain or shine camp!
