Since Toronto School of Art's grand reopening at their new Bloordale location, TSA continues to expand their course offerings, suitable for all levels of experience in a wide range of media.
Spring and Summer terms at TSA are very exciting, featuring many specialty courses, exclusive 3-day workshops and 1-week intensives for adults, Summer Art Camps for young artists, and Youth Studio programming for teens.
TSA's unique Youth Studio Intensive is a two-week Summer program for teens, ages 14 - 17. This program is built to encourage students to explore their imagination with a hands-on approach in traditional and contemporary methods to find their creative voice and develop technical skills in the arts. Youth Studio introduces a range of media including: drawing, life drawing, painting, sculpture, and material explorations with collage and assemblage. Excursions to museums and art galleries are an integral part of the program, as well.
Youth Studio Intensive runs July 7 to 11 and July 14 to 18 with the support of TSA Youth & Family instructors, and our Summer Youth Coordinator. Studio sessions are Monday through Thursday 9AM - 3PM, and Friday 9AM - Noon.
TSA Art Camps are specialized one-week studio art programs for tweens and teens, ranging from Life Drawing for Teens (Ages 14 - 17) to Illustration and Cartooning Techniques, Painting Explorations, Sketch and Sculpt, and Mix it Up: Drawing, Collage, and Mixed Media, all open for ages 10 - 13. Art Camps encourage media experimentation and provide exploratory grounds for young artists to design their own ideas and content for their projects, learn historic and contemporary art references and techniques, and expand their imaginations, creative thinking skills, and find their artistic voice and style.
