Youth Studio & Family Art Studio at TSA, Fall 2014

YOUTH & FAMILY COURSES AT TORONTO SCHOOL OF ART

FALL TERM 2014 | SEPTEMBER 15 - DECEMBER 12

Young artists (ages 7-18) are guided through age-appropriate explorations of various mediums and processes. Field trips to art galleries introduce students to historical and contemporary artists, and hands-on studio time develops technical skills and a personal style through experimentation and creative problem-solving. Youth Studio, Family Art Studio, and Art Camps cover a range of art disciplines, while digital courses cover photography and sculpting in ZBrush.

Youth Studio is a twelve-week visual art program designed primarily for tweens and teens. Through (life) drawing, painting, sculpture, installation, performance, digital and mixed media, students learn technical skills, knowledge of contemporary visual arts and art history, and are encouraged to develop their own personal creative process. Portfolio development and preparation are provided for students who plan to apply to arts-focused high schools or arts programs in colleges and universities. Field trips to museums and galleries as well as exhibition and performance opportunities are also an integral part of the program.
