Sail Parry Sound is very proud that one of their insructors, Jacob Steckley-Pawis, was nominated and a finalist for a Bobby Orr Hall of Fame Celebrating Youth Award. This is the second year of this annual event held on June 3rd, 2017 in the Stockey Centre, Parry Sound, which honours local youth who have shown excellence in fields such as volunteerism, athletics, and the arts. Jacob was selected as a finalist from over 80 nominations that were submitted for his achievements as a sailing instructor. Jacob started out as a student in sailing school when he was 12 and became an instructor last summer. He is returning again this summer, and furthering is certifications in the CANSail program this spring. We are honoured and fortunate to have so many fine youth instructing at our sailng school, and proud that Jacob was recognized for his efforts in achieving his sailing levels and instructor certifications.
