Central to your child's school experience is the underlying curriculum taught in the classroom. "Curriculum" refers to both what is taught and how it's taught. When considering the different curricula outlined in the next few pages, keep in mind that few schools fall neatly into one category or another. Most schools' curricula comprise a blend of best practices drawn from multiple curriculum types. Having said that, most schools do have a general overall curriculum type. These are identified for each school on OurKids.net.
Primary Curriculum: Liberal ArtsSuch an approach to curriculum shares with traditional programs their emphasis on core knowledge-acquisition, but tends to borrow more best practices from the progressive approach. The goal isn't to prepare students for vocational life, but rather to encourage an appreciation of the benefits of education itself, including academic and personal development. There is an emphasis on knowledge acquisition as well as theoretical and academic learning, but the real focus is on cultivating the intellect.

Welcome to Sapiens Innovative School — a place born from a deep belief that education must evolve with the world and honor the uniqueness of every young person.
My name is Olena Tkachova, and I am the founder and head of Sapiens. I’m also a mother of three children — two of whom have already graduated from this very school. So for me, Sapiens is not just a professional mission — it’s deeply personal. I know what it means to trust a school with your child’s growth, curiosity, and dreams.
For years, I have worked at the intersection of education, self-development, and social innovation, driven by one clear mission: to help young people discover who they are, how they learn best, and how they can confidently take their place in the world.
Sapiens is more than a school. It’s a living, breathing space of trust, creativity, challenge, and care. We are building a new model — one that replaces standardization with personalization, stress with curiosity, and fear of failure with courage and reflection. We believe that every learner deserves a safe and inspiring environment where they can grow at their own pace, take real responsibility, and feel that they matter.
As headmaster, I am present in the daily life of the school — supporting our team, mentoring students, and speaking to parents as partners. I want every family who joins us to feel that they are part of something meaningful, something that grows together with their child.
I invite you to learn more, reach out, and — if our vision resonates with you — join us in shaping a school that prepares not just for exams, but for life.
Warmly,
Olena Tkachova
