Thames British School Warsaw (TBS) is an international school offering the National Curriculum of English for children aged from 2.5 to 18 years (from Nursery/Kindergarten to IB diploma. The school implements English National Curriculum and IB Diploma Programme. The primary language of instruction is English, but students also learn Spanish nd German. The school also offers additional Polish lessons twice a week.
TBS operates on four modern and well-equipped campuses - in the Warsaw district of Ochota: near Szczęśliwicki Park and on Wawelska Street, in Piaseczno, outside of Warsaw, and in Włochy, on the outskirts of Warsaw.
Teachers at TBS are native speakers with British pedagogical experience. The school's aim is to create an environment where pupils can immerse themselves fully into learning by creating within them a set of core intrinsic values (Responsibility / Respect / Kindness / Honesty / Equality) which will motivate them to become life-long learners in an international community.
Extracurricular activities are treated as a key complement to school education. Classes conducted by teachers are free (included in tuition), while those provided by third-party organizations are paid extra. The school also provides bus transport for students and a meals program.
Applications and admissions are accepted year-round. Children applying into the Nursery and Reception levels do not need to know any English. From Year 3 onwards, a written exam is required, as well as previous school report cards and a letter of recommendation from the previous teacher.

Central to your child's school experience is the underlying curriculum taught in the classroom. "Curriculum" refers to both what is taught and how it's taught. When considering the different curricula outlined in the next few pages, keep in mind that few schools fall neatly into one category or another. Most schools' curricula comprise a blend of best practices drawn from multiple curriculum types. Having said that, most schools do have a general overall curriculum type. These are identified for each school on OurKids.net.
Primary Curriculum: ProgressiveProgressive (sometimes called "inquiry based" or "discovery based") curricula use students' interests and their natural curiosity as the driver for instruction. Teachers provide materials, experiences, tools and resources necessary for students to investigate a topic or issue. Students are then encouraged to explore, reflect on their findings, and discuss answers, solutions, and insights.

I am delighted to welcome you to our school and to introduce you to our inspirational staff and enthusiastic children.
Our Early Years and Primary facilities cater for an emerging international community where we celebrate global diversity. Each campus promotes an inclusive family atmosphere where children can build secure relationships with their peers and adults around them. We pride ourselves on knowing each child individually and fully appreciate their talents and attributes.
Thames British School Warsaw is a safe and happy learning environment where the children’s enjoyment inspires and motivates them to go further. We consider children to be partners in their own learning and encourage them to set ambitious but achievable goals for themselves. We encourage all children to challenge themselves to go beyond their comfort zone to exceed what they believe to be possible. With the support of their teachers, the children develop the confidence and resilience to fully embrace their learning opportunities.
Our holistic and thematic approach puts the child at the centre of achieving the objectives of the National Curriculum for England with the belief that there is a difference between being taught and active learning. We offer stimulating experiences with the process of investigation and discovery as our bedrock.
I understand that choosing a school is one of the most important decisions a parent can make. Whereas this letter has offered an introduction, to fully understand the experiences and opportunities your child will have with us, I invite you and your family to visit our school.
We look forward to seeing you.
