We offer education for children between the ages of 2.5 and 18 years old from Early Years till Cambridge International A-Levels and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP). Following the National Curriculum for England and International Baccalaureate programme, the aim of our school is to provide a warm, happy and challenging atmosphere where children can derive pleasure from learning whilst achieving their personal goals.

All children, regardless of strengths and weaknesses, colour, creed or gender, feel valued and able to reach their full potential. The instruction language is English. Our High-School's students choose whether to take the IB DP or Cambridge International A-Levels.

Our Take

The school follows the Cambridge International Curriculum, based on the British model of education, and in the final two years students may choose to take either A-Level or IB Diploma examinations. Students are fully immersed in English, which is the language of instruction and inclusion. The school also offer Polish, Spanish or German language lessons

Thames British School operates across four modern campuses in Warsaw: Włochy, Ochota, Mokotów Primary, and Mokotów High School. Each campus is well equipped and tailored to the needs of specific age groups, providing a friendly and inspiring learning environment.

The teaching staff comprises experienced native speakers and educators with international (QTS) qualifications, who ensure high academic standards and take an individual approach to each student. The school fosters a culture of C | A | R | E and promotes our values: Collaborative and Compassionate; Authentic; Responsible and Resilient; and Enlightened. These values underpin the school’s commitment to creating a safe, inclusive and equitable environment in which every individual is valued, respected and empowered to thrive.

Thames British School also offers a wide range of extracurricular activities, which form an integral part of school life.

Admissions are open throughout the year. Children entering the Nursery and Reception classes are not required to speak English. English is the language of inclusion and instruction for most subjects and so the level of English proficiency becomes more important as students progress through the school. From Year 3 onwards, candidates are asked to complete an entrance assessment and/or interview and provide previous school reports. We may also ask for a reference from your former school. At the core of our decisions and recommendations will be the child's best interests.

Academic-based preschools and Kindergartens are the most structured of the different types, and have a strong emphasis on math and reading readiness skills. These programs aim to expose children to what early-elementary school is like. While time is still allotted to free play, much of the day is built around explicit lessons guided by the teacher. Classrooms often resemble play-based ones (with different stations set up around the room), but at an Academic program the teacher leads students through the stations directly, and ties these activities to a whole-class lesson or theme.

I am delighted to welcome you to our school and to introduce you to our inspirational staff and enthusiastic children.

Our Early Years and Primary facilities cater for an emerging international community where we celebrate global diversity. Each campus promotes an inclusive family atmosphere where children can build secure relationships with their peers and adults around them. We pride ourselves on knowing each child individually and fully appreciate their talents and attributes.

Thames British School Warsaw is a safe and happy learning environment where the children’s enjoyment inspires and motivates them to go further. We consider children to be partners in their own learning and encourage them to set ambitious but achievable goals for themselves. We encourage all children to challenge themselves to go beyond their comfort zone to exceed what they believe to be possible. With the support of their teachers, the children develop the confidence and resilience to fully embrace their learning opportunities.

Our holistic and thematic approach puts the child at the centre of achieving the objectives of the National Curriculum for England with the belief that there is a difference between being taught and active learning.
