What questions should I ask when looking into a private school you wonder?
Simple. Ask about any and every aspect of the school and your child’s education that interests or concerns you. General questions about the school’s founding philosophy, governance and years in operation, tuition, entrance requirements and application process are a good place to start.
For most parents, private school is about choice. Increasingly, parents from different ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds across Canada are choosing independent and private school so that they can find the school that is perfect for their child.
The general costs of private school tuition are surprising parents as they find that its less than they believed!
Many private and independent schools have tuition starting under $4,000 per year for elementary levels. Independent private schools in provinces such as British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Quebec that receive some government funding may offer yearly tuition rates below $1,000.
Some find the search for the right car difficult, while others agonize over their next vacation spot! Deciding what to have for dinner can even cause consternation. On Sunday September 18th, Our Kids hosted the 3rd annual Montreal Private School Expo at the Hilton Montreal Bonaventure.
This years expo in partnership with the Quebec Association of Independent Schools (QAIS), brought over 30 private schools and over 1500 people together in this giant one day event.
The Toronto Waldorf School is still looking for camp kids. They’re recruiting the little ones from ages 4 to 14, Depending on the age bracket, they will be entertained by educational outdoor experiences like visiting Camp Kettelby, and the Albion Hills Conversation area where they have bicycle trails and a huge lake to swim in. The younger ones can enjoy nature walks, imaginative play,songs and stories. The camp runs from June 20th till August 19th weekly.
