Private High Schools and Secondary Schools in Canada

Private high schools and secondary schools in Canada and each province come with a unique set of considerations. Our Kids Go to School offers listings of Canadian private high schools and secondary schools.

If you feel that it is your parental duty to offer your child the best education possible, see our comprehensive listings of Canadian private high schools.

Looking for a private high school in Canada today
Since the inception of the Constitution Act in 1867, private high school and secondary schools in Canada have been regulated and respected by each province or territory. Today, it is becoming more and more common for parents to seek out private education as a better alternative to public schooling. There's a sense today that - as it goes with so much else in life - you get what you pay for when it comes to education.

Why send your kids to private high school?

Many private secondary or high schools can promise better facilities or more caring educators on staff. A survey by the Council for American Private Education showed that graduates of private secondary schools score above average on math, reading, writing and science tests. Three times as many private high school students as public high school students claimed that their schools taught them community service values. 55% of parents who send their children to public school would send their children to private school if they could afford it.

If you have sent your kids to public elementary school, the four years of private high school can be an affordable way to improve their education as they enter the college and university years.
