But is preschool right for all children who are old enough? And which children are best suited for it? These are controversial questions.
Most kids are well-suited for preschool. But some are an exceptional fit. Often, kids with many of the following traits will excel in preschool:
There may be some children that aren’t a great fit for preschool or daycare. The following is a list of traits that may indicate your child isn’t ready for preschool, or that may make the transition more challenging.
Keep in mind, none of these are set in stone: it’s possible for a child to have one or more of these traits and still excel in preschool. Moreover, some preschools specialize in meeting the needs of kids with some of these traits.
