    Canadian Summer Camps

Bountiful camp options in the great white north

Going to summer camp is a quintessential Canadian experience. Canada is a diverse and expansive country, and an astounding range of summer camps reflects that same breadth in the innovative programs offered in varied and unique settings. Canadian summer camps offer something for everyone--whether the goal is high adventure, wilderness appreciation, an artistic or educational pursuit, or just plain fun.

Canadians see summer camps as playing a key role in helping their children develop strong social, leadership and other life skills.

Some argue that we are losing our connection to nature and it is imperative that we pass on that connection to the next generation of Canadians.

A study done a few years ago looking at consumer attitudes towards summer camps, found that over 80 per cent of Canadians think summer camps are important in helping children make friends as well as acquire important skills in outdoor activities, sports and the arts. The study also found that 90 per cent of Canadian parents, who attended summer camps as children, send their own kids to camp. With the country's unique geography and breathtaking landscapes, Canadian camps naturally attract campers from abroad every summer.

Our Kids Go to Camp has all the goods on going to camp in Canada. We've been covering the world of Canadian kids' camps for over a decade now through our partnership with the Globe and Mail.
