Kraków international schools offer a wide range of challenging and engaging programs from elementary to high school. They are ideally suited to foreign students from Canada, the US, Britain, France, Germany, and many other countries. However, most of these schools also admit Polish residents.
Some of the schools are American schools that follow an American curriculum. Others are British schools that follow the English national curriculum.
Benefits of international Kraków schools
Private and non-public international schools in Kraków, like those in Warsaw, are becoming an increasingly appealing option. While they’re often ideal for international students, they can also be a nice fit for students living in Kraków and other areas of Poland.
Below, we describe some of the unique features of these schools. If you want to learn about the benefits of private and non-public schools in Poland in general, read our guide. If you want to learn about the benefits of studying abroad, read our guide.
Great academics: International schools in Kraków tend to have a challenging and stimulating curriculum. They have demanding courses in a wide range of areas, and students are held to high standards. They also normally have qualified, dedicated, and engaging teachers.
Advanced studies: Most Kraków international schools offer opportunities for advanced study. There offer plenty of challenging learning opportunities for high-achievers. In many of these schools, students can take foreign language classes, AP courses, or enroll in an IB program. Some of these schools also offer gifted programs, where students learn alongside other advanced learners.
Language programs: Many international schools, including those in Kraków, offer specialized language programs. Some of these schools offer English as the main language of instruction. Others offer bilingual, Polish-English instruction, where some courses are taught in Polish and some in English. Many schools also offer intensive foreign language courses, such as in German, French, Russian, Spanish, and Japanese.
Special needs support: Some international schools offer support for special needs students. For instance, they might have a dedicated special needs class, an integrated special needs class, or offer indirect special needs support in a regular classroom. Many schools with special needs programs support children with a wide range of challenges, including learning, developmental, and physical disabilities.
Broadening horizons: In an international school, your child will learn with students from many different countries. They’ll also have the chance to live in a new country, learn new customs, be exposed to different languages and cultures, and travel.
