Primary school education in Warsaw
Primary schools in Warsaw, and in Poland in general, are equivalent to elementary schools in North America. They offer kindergarten to grade 6. They may also offer preschool education, and be attached to middle and high schools.
School levels:
In Warsaw, primary school (whether private and public) is compulsory for all children between the ages of 7 and 13. Kids normally attend primary school for six years in total.
According to Alberta’s Poland International Education Guide, primary school is often divided into two stages. The first stage covers Grades 1 to 3, and is called “integrated education.” At this stage, teachers create an academic schedule, though there is flexible timetable and breaks are offered. Students may take as many as 18 lessons per week at this stage, including three hours of physical education.
The second stage covers Grades 4 to 6. At this stage, teaching is divided into subjects and taught by individual instructors. In addition to subjects, the curriculum involves the pursuit of “educational paths” (sciezki edukacyjne), such as reading, media, ecology, and health and social education.

There are many different types of private primary schools in Warsaw, Poland. This includes international, boarding, day, language, special needs, Montessori, and Waldorf schools. You should look into these different kinds of schools closely, to find the right fit for your child.
